Con Alma Health Foundation Executive Director to be Newest Board Member
(Santa Fe) – Con Alma Health Foundation announced today that its executive director, Dolores E. Roybal, will be a new board member of Grantmakers in Health, a professional trade organization for health grantmakers and health philanthropy.
In March 2013, she will join the 16-member board, which includes representatives from the Colorado Health Foundation, Kaiser Permanente, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Sunflower Foundation and W.K. Kellogg Foundation.
“I am honored that Con Alma is at the table with other health foundations from across the country,” Roybal said. “We are pleased to have a role with an organization that is dedicated to helping foundations and corporate giving programs improve the health of all people.”
Roybal has been with Con Alma since 2006 and became executive director in January 2007. A native New Mexican, she has more than 30 years of experience in nonprofit and philanthropy work and currently serves as the board chair of the New Mexico Association of Grantmakers. Prior to joining Con Alma, Roybal was the founding executive director of NGO New Mexico, a statewide nonprofit association.
Con Alma has been a longtime member of Grantmakers in Health. Board members’ responsibilities include being ambassadors for Grantmakers in Health, establishing and promoting the organization’s mission and vision, and holding fiduciary responsibility.
Grantmakers’ mission is to foster communication and collaboration among grantmakers and to help strengthen the grantmaking community’s knowledge, skills, and effectiveness.
Con Alma Health Foundation seeks to improve people’s health status and access to health care services, and advocates for health policies to address the unmet health needs of New Mexico’s culturally and demographically diverse population.
