Welcome to The Con Alma Health Foundation

The Heart and Soul of Health in New Mexico

Furthering Con Alma’s mission to advance health equity and improve health in New Mexico

Con Alma Health Foundation received a $5 million gift from global philanthropist and author MacKenzie Scott. This investment will further our mission to advance health equity and improve the health and well-being of all New Mexicans. The Foundation will develop a strategic initiative that prioritizes the most urgent health needs and will publicly announce when it is ready to accept grant applications.

Con Alma is humbled to be included in Ms. Scott’s philanthropic giving that included at least 20 rural-serving health conversion foundations in the U.S., featured in Inside Philanthropy.

Con Alma's COVID-19 Response

In light of the evolving public health emergency due to COVID-19, Con Alma Health Foundation continues to take a number of steps in an attempt to minimize exposure and slow the projected spread of infection. Until further notice, Con Alma has suspended in-person meetings at the Con Alma office. In the interim we have adopted a hybrid schedule and staff can be reached via email or other means as arranged.

We continue to encourage our partners and friends to follow recommendations from the CDC’s website and the New Mexico Department of Health’s website and other health officials regarding social distancing and other public health advisories, including information on managing anxiety and stress.

Con Alma’s COVID relief and recovery work is ongoing as we strive to increase health in New Mexico’s diverse communities. From our initial relief at the start of the pandemic, to our current work towards an equitable vaccine rollout and recovery from its impact, Con Alma will continue to support a healthier New Mexico.
